Office break workout

We all have those days when it’s impossible to escape the office (or the house!) to squeeze in a workout. I had a day like that last Friday when we had an all-day training at work (part 2 of which is tomorrow…yay.)  I didn’t have a chance to go for a run that morning, and I was feeling really antsy from sitting in a windowless conference room all day, so I decided I would figure out a way to do a little exercise.

I am lucky enough to have a teeny tiny office gym in the basement of my office building. At our mid-morning and mid-afternoon breaks, plus the end of the lunch break, I improvised a little strength training routine. I think it actually ended up being a pretty decent workout, considering how quick it goes — and you don’t even have to change out of your work clothes. (Flat shoes & slacks – not a skirt – recommended!)

I even got several of my co-workers to join me by the end of the day.  It was fun – and somehow a bunch of us even ended up doing a plank challenge in the conference room.  I swear, you can’t make this stuff up.
