Sam at 10 months

Poor sicky baby.

Poor sicky baby.

At 10 months, Sam…

…weighs almost 20 pounds.  Thanks to a nasty upper respiratory virus I was getting almost daily weight checks for a while.  He seems to be feeling better now, thank goodness.

…has four teeth, and an adorable underbite.  He looks like a cross between a chipmunk and a bulldog.

…hasn’t complained once about the fact that his very busy mother has been buying his baby food instead of making it.  Seriously, why did I stress out over such a silly little thing?

…loves to chew paper.  No book or magazine is safe!

…still isn’t crawling.  #lazybaby4eva

…loves to imitate the silly noises his brother makes.

…is an expert bath toy stealer.  (Most commonly heard phrase during “brother bathtime”:  Mooooooommmmm….. Sam took my toy!!!)

And now I’ll interrupt this regularly scheduled baby cuteness for some bloggy talk.

I took a blogging hiatus last week and it was really nice.  I really enjoy blogging and the interactions I have with other bloggers, but sometimes all the things I feel like I “should be doing” just get overwhelming.  Simply stated, I think I’ve lost my blogging mojo.  (blomojo?)  For the summer, my plan is to check in here once a week or so, and I will do my best to keep up with my bloggy friends (you know who you are!) but I won’t be reading or commenting as much as I used to.

  1. Glad he’s feeling better! My O only has 2 teeth, started getting somewhere with the crawling this past week (no one is safe, haha), and already weighs 20 lbs at 9mo! Wish we lived closer so we could hang out since you won’t be active on the blog over the summer :).

    • Oh crawling… You’re in for it now! Let me know if you figure out how to keep her away from J’s little toys? I swear we have so many toys with tiny pieces, it just terrifies me for when Sam can get ahold of them!

Hanging out with you guys would be so fun!

    • I wouldn’t call it psyched up because it’s going to be a ton of work, but I am getting excited about doing some dejunking and moving some furniture around.

    • Thank you! He’s slowly getting better but geez that cold is taking a long time to over.

I may be a few days late but you’ll definitely be on my reading list, Kim!

    • I know, I miss Shana too! You should friend her on Facebook if you haven’t already. Looks like her kids are out of school and they’re having all kinds of fun together.

I have a cousin who didn’t get any teeth til she was two, so no one in my family gets too worked up about kids getting teeth late! =)

    • Thanks Moira! Yes, a sick baby is no fun for anyone. I really enjoy blogging so I may surprise myself and blog more, but I’m taking all the (self-imposed) pressure off.

    • No, not yet. We don’t have a firm moving date but it will be sometime in early July. Naptime sounds so amazing right now! I am still recuperating from the long drive home from Lexington Kentucky on Sunday.

  2. Too cuuute! One of my twins was a late crawler too, and generally takes his time with gross motor skill stuff. With three kids, I’m not freaking out as much as I know I would’ve had he been my first kid lol.

And yes, isn’t it so freeing how we don’t always have to do everything perfectly or how we should, like making baby food? I for one love making baby food, but I have definitely cut myself some slack with other things.

Glad you’ll still be checking in. I just recently found you so hopefully we can still hear from you 🙂

    • No kidding — I am way more laid back with my second kid.

I’m sure I can’t stay away for too long, so you’ll still be hearing from me, maybe just not quite as much. Thanks Nina!
